WHY WE DO IT

OUR MISSION AND VISION STATEMENTS

Mission Statement

To Connect, Educate , and Support Unserved/Underserved Women and Men Veterans and other Persons with Disability with resources in independent living, vocational rehabilitation, and higher education, for WORKFORCE and LIFE SUCCESS.

Vision Statement

That every Person with Disability*, who desires to be a productive and  contributing citizen, will have an opportunity to change their  perception of disabled to differently-abled, and experience some level  of education and workforce successin consideration of their functional,  psychological, social-economical, and cultural situations.

Where We Do IT

We take our DIFferently-Abled Network meetings (talk shows and programs) into the community in partnership with  "disability and veteran friendly" companies, college campuses, local job fairs, food banks, homeless shelters, and community  and faith-based organizations:

We refer all persons with disability to our partners at  the AZ State Independent Living  and  Rehabilitation Councils, Maricopa Community Colleges,   Disabled American Veterans, Paralyzed Veterans of America, African-American Symposium on  Disabilities, ABILITY 360,,Veteran’s Medical Leadership Council , LGBTQ community,, VA. and more..

How We Do It

We invite local employers, educators, counselors as guests on the ASK Dr. Applewhite Talk Show.  They

  • share opportunities and discuss how they recruit, hire, enhance performance, and retain, Underserved Veterans and other Persons with Disability.
  • They also listen to their stories and encourage them to ASK for what they need to succeed in the workforce
  • Become Sponsors to help fill those needs and prevent their Dropout from school, work, and life!
