Your sponsorship will allow us to continue our relationship with other nonprofit and veteran service organizations that believe in the financial potential of veterans and civilians with visible and non-visible disabilities. Our intention is to bring your company to their attention as we grow on a nationwide level. Carrying your logo and materials with us to community-based events will enhance your visibility to households in Arizona and the United States and enhance your recognition on social media.
Sponsorship is vital to our mission and provides the necessary resources to support our programs and initiatives. As a Sponsor, you play a crucial role in restoring hope in differently-abled individuals and fostering an inclusive society. We offer various sponsorship levels and are open to discussing customized partnerships that align with your organization's values and goals.
Our Founder/Director, Dr. Danita Applewhite is labeled as permanently and catastrophically disabled due to a car accident. She changed her "perception" of the label and regards herself as differently-abled. She is the example used for motivating our Clients and Students to empower themselves to overcome chronic pain, stress, trauma, and more to become the productive and contributing citizens they wish to be.
This is the approach we use at our Differently-Abled Network (DAN) meetings featured monthly on the Ask Dr. Applewhite Program aired on YouTube. Your sponsorship helps us prevent drop-out from the workforce and higher education, restores hope by encouraging self-advocacy and self-empowerment, and supports fellow veterans and their eligible family members.
Your sponsorship provides the immediate funds needed in the most common crises faced by persons with non-visible and visible disability, such as when there is a major interview or exam and failure with transportation, computer or phone use, childcare, and other workforce-related expenses and no other support system exists. Although we collaborate with local Service Providers, including veteran agencies but most of the time they can not provide immediate funding for transportation, childcare, work uniforms, equipment repairs, etc. General Membership is free and necessary for our vetting process. You can take a look at other membership levels by clicking here.....
Women veterans are always encouraged to apply for services at Be Connected , a program of the Veterans Administration. However, many times they need our volunteer mentors , usually other women veterans, to help restore their hope. According to data from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development there’s been a 24% increase of homeless women veterans, with some living in their cars. Although the estimates are low the Veterans Administration is concerned because women will make up 18% of all U.S. Veterans by 2040. This project is necessary as a prevention for Arizona women veterans and their family members regardless of years served or discharge status. Women veterans seeking services are encouraged not to withhold information about their military veteran experience so we can have more accuracy on record. Women veterans who experienced traumatic events, including Military Sexual Trauma, are even less likely to ” proudly” say they served in the Armed Forces.
Most women veterans who participate in monthly Differently-Abled Network meetings seek resources that will help them secure employment, achieve higher education goals, and become productive, contributing citizens in their communities.
